Zambartas Lefkada-Shiraz

If Zambartas Rosé made us known, Zambartas Shiraz – Lefkada made us established. A straight gold medal winner for the past years. Shiraz has adapted very well to the Cyprus warm climate at the lower altitudes of the island’s mountains and together with the local Lefkada grape this full-bodied red wine with intense aroma and flavour that demands your attention and focus on tasting it. An international award winner, this complex and powerful deep purpled wine is the culmination of the rigorous winemaking techniques and efforts employed by the winemakers. The maturation in the finest of French oak barrels for 12-14 months gave this wine its balanced structure and complex flavour.

Zambartas Maratheftiko

This indigenous grape is presently Cyprus ' pride when referring to red dry wines. A noble grape that produces deeply coloured, elegantly scented wines with a characteristic floral aroma of violets passing through the nose to the palette. Despite the small amount of Maratheftiko vines existing since it was almost pulled out to extinction, this variety is here to stay. You can read further info about Maratheftiko and its ‘discovery' at ‘The Story' column.

Zambartas Rosé

For the present, this wine is our flagship. Zambartas Rosé has been rated very highly by local and international wine writers. Some even described it as the best rosé wine sold in the country. A price winner in wine competitions year by year, Zambartas Rosé will reward consistently those who experience it bottle after bottle. The wine is a blend of the local variety Lefkada and Cabernet Franc. Both varieties are renowned for their strong aroma and flavour of red fruit and pleasant acidity.

Zambartas Sémillon Sauvignon Blanc

At Zambartas Wineries we believe that at specific vineyard sites, the Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc cultivars are very well suited to the dry and warm climate of Cyprus, producing medium bodied and elegant white wines. There are only very few wines made principally from Sémillon in Cyprus and it mostly enjoyed by people that seek beyond the ‘classics’, Xynisteri and Chardonnay. Glancing at the future, we have planted a Sémillon vineyard at the Krasochoria wine region in 2007 which will provide us with quality grapes the years to come

Zambartas Xynisteri

The Xynisteri grapes which produced this fine and fruity white wine were grown at steep old vineyards on the St. Nickolas and Afamis mountains overlooking Omodos village at the Krasochoria region. To the eye it is light yellow which denotes freshness and welcomes you to taste it. The peach and passion fruit aromas are immediately apparent. Barrel fermentation of part of this wine gave enriching aromas of toasted cinnamon. The refreshing acidity and the lingering aftertaste of this enjoyable wine is attributed to the lime soils of our Xynisteri vineyards cooling down in the night and moderately warming up during the mild summer on 800m elevation on the southern slope of the Troodos mountains (…and careful winemaking!)
