Greece, or officially Elliniki Dhimokratia, is a beautiful little country located in Southern Europe. Despite its small size, it is a very well known country, due to its civilization history, which dates back to approximately 2,000 years. Many fields such as science, politics, mathematics, medicine, art, originated in Greece. It is where Hercules, Plato, Archimedes, Hippocrates, and many other great names were born. It is where the Olympics originated from. It is where Pythagoras first derived the very famous Pythagorean Theory.
Greece is very well known for its warm Mediterranean climate, and is a perfect destination for tourists who are looking to have great holidays. It has many beautiful beaches, gorgeous tourist attractions, and not to mention, excellent foods. The Greek people are warm, lively, and friendly, and they are more than happy to welcome visitors who are looking forward to spend time in this great country.

Greek is the official language of Greece. It uses the Greek alphabets, which look significantly different from the Latin alphabets. Educating yourself with the Greek alphabets will benefit you as all road signs and pretty much everything in Greece are written in the Greek alphabets. Some people speak excellent and understandable English, but most do not. Hence, it is advisable to learn basic Greek phrases before going to Greece, to save yourself considerable time.
